Synopsis

English

In a small Mediterranean village, an ancient myth unexpectedly comes to life. Two fishermen find a dolphin accidentally caught in their nets. The dolphin, on its turn, finds a fisherman drowning in the water and tries to save him.

In un piccolo villaggio che affaccia sul Mediterraneo prende vita inaspettatamente un antico mito. Due pescatori trovano nelle loro reti un delfino catturato accidentalmente. Il delfino, a sua volta, trova un pescatore che sta annegando in acqua e cerca di salvarlo.

Biography

English

Isabella Margara is a Greek director and medical doctor. She was selected in Sarajevo Talents 2021. Her first short film “54/The Blind Turtle and the Endless Sea” (2020) screened in Oscar-qualifying festivals and more than 20 countries worldwide. Following its festival run, the film, distributed by Salaud Morisset, was acquired by CANAL+ in France and Cosmote TV Cinema in Greece and Cyprus. Her second script “Nothing Holier Than A Dolphin” (2022) was awarded by one of Europe's largest environmental organizations as a story offering great environmental insight. The short film has its World premiere at EFA qualifying Int. Short Film Festival in DramaShe is interested in the therapeutic aspect of art and the transformation point between reality and fantasy. Nature and feminism are recurrent themes in her work.

Il suo primo cortometraggio “54/The Blind Turtle and the Endless Sea” (2020) è stato proiettato in festival Oscar-qualifying e in più di 20 Paesi nel mondo. Dopo il percorso festival, il film, distribuito da Salaud Morisset, è stato acquisito da CANAL+ in Francia e da Cosmote TV Cinema in Grecia e Cipro. La sua seconda sceneggiatura "Nothing Holier Than A Dolphin" (2022) è stata premiata da una delle più grandi organizzazioni ambientaliste europee come una storia che offre una grande visione ambientale. Il cortometraggio ha la sua Anteprima mondiale al festival di qualificazione per l’EFA Int. Short Film Festival in Drama. Isabella si interessa dell'aspetto terapeutico dell'arte e del punto di rottura tra realtà e fantasia. Natura e femminismo sono temi ricorrenti nei suoi lavori.
