Synopsis
English
Mercurio is a kid who loves cycling. One day he is stopped by the Fascist regime and incarcerated in a transit camp, ready to be sent to a concentration camp. Forced to quickly become a man, he will try, fighting unarmed, to win against the horror of Fascism and gain absolute freedom.

Mercurio è un ragazzino che adora la bicicletta. Un giorno viene fermato dal regime Fascista e rinchiuso in un campo di smistamento, pronto per essere mandato in un campo di concentramento. Costretto a diventare rapidamente uomo, cercherà, con la sua lotta non armata, di vincere contro l’orrore del Fascismo e ottenere la libertà assoluta.

Michele Bernardi is one of the most important Italian animators and cartoonists, author of significant collaborations in television, music and advertising. In the eighties he worked on the TV series "La Pimpa", created by Altan, and on several episodes of "La Linea di Cavandoli". He made over thirty animated music videos for Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Le luci della centrale elettrica, Zen Circus, Colapesce, Punkreas, Prozac+, 24 Grana and many other bands, as well as commercials for brands such as Barilla, Mulino Bianco, Chicco, Ikea. In 2012 he made the animated short film "Djuman", presented at the Annecy Int. Animation Festival and selected in several important festivals including Anima Mundi and Animafest (Oscar qualifying festivals). In 2018 he concluded the realization of "Mercurio", which lasted over four years. The short film is again selected - among others - at Anima Mundi and won numerous awards including Best Short Film at Imaginaria and Animaphix.

Michele Bernardi è uno dei più importanti animatori e fumettisti italiani, autore di significative collaborazioni nel mondo televisivo, musicale e pubblicitario. Negli anni Ottanta lavora alla serie tv “La Pimpa”, creata da Altan, e a diversi episodi de “La Linea di Cavandoli”. Realizza oltre trenta videoclip d’animazione per i Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Le luci della centrale elettrica, Zen Circus, Colapesce, Punkreas, Prozac+, 24 Grana e molti altri gruppi musicali, oltre che spot commerciali per brand come Barilla, Mulino Bianco, Chicco, Ikea. Nel 2012 realizza il corto d'animazione "Djuman", presentato al Festival di animazione di Annecy e selezionato in numerosi importanti festival tra cui Anima Mundi e Animafest (festival che qualificano per l’Oscar). Nel 2018 conclude la realizzazione di "Mercurio", durata oltre quattro anni. Il cortometraggio è selezionato anch’esso - tra gli altri - ad Anima Mundi e vince numerosi premi tra cui Miglior Corto ai festival Imaginaria e Animaphix.
